Bio

My name is Sophie, I'm eighteen, going on thirty(according to my mam anyway!) I'm the eldest of four, all girls, so imagine the hell my father has to go through!

You're probably asking why I created this blog? Because I certainly am, I joke. I know full well why I created this blog.
I'm an avid music fan, to the point where I can't function without it, a bit extreme you may say, but that's my life. I thought that it would be great to have my own little site to post my reviews and just general music ramblings after becoming part of the editorial team at Thestudentroom.co.uk. My job was to create a thread and such on my gig experiences and how I'd rate them, I did that by posting my Newport Helicoptour review and I was welcomed with open arms. I loved the comments that praised the review, it gave me a sort of buzz that I had to get more of, that lead to the creation of this darling website.

I wanted to delve deeper into the world of music journalism, even thinking about doing a course in it at university, but then I thought that it was pretty pointless due to the rise of bloggers who rose to fame without so much a qualification to their name.

I also had some work published in the past, a review of the book Long Reach by Peter Cocks, in the teen girls magazine, Sugarscape. This also spurred my love for writing reviews and wanting a place of my own to review.
If they can do it, what's stopping me? Nothing that's what.
So enough about what inspired me to create this, time to move on to about me, myself and I. I'm currently in my first year of my sixth form college studying for my AS Levels, which consist of English Lang/Lit, Law, Sociology and Psychology.

I love college life, it allows me to be myself without the constraints of the uniform and such strict rules. I managed to rekindle with old friends and gain a million new friends who I cherish dearly, some I can't imagine living without.

The Best Friend and I
My music taste has been arguably talked about, some may say it's widely diverse whereas others may say it's just strange. I can agree with both because that is what it is. I can go from Slipknot to the Pokemon theme tune and everything in between within a matter of minutes, I can listen to the bands my friends suggest even if I am a bit reluctant at first, I then go on to love the band and add them to my collection.

I LOVE going to gigs and festivals, and I've been going since I was a 13, my first gig was back in 2010.. It seems like a lifetime ago tbh.

Each gig/festival has surpassed the last one and some of them I am extremely thankful to have gone, just take Mayday Parade & Fall Out Boy for example, as both bands mean a lot to me and I have been waiting to see them for years now.
